Nerida Health Take Part

Words We Use

The same words, meaning the same thing, on every page and in the product.

Care software is full of words that sound alike and mean different things. This page defines the ones Nerida uses, so the site, the product and the conversations we have with you all mean the same thing by them.

Terms

Doctor
The word this site uses for everyone who provides care on Nerida, across medicine and dentistry. For dental practices
Practice team
The people who run a practice’s day on a doctor’s behalf: reception, coordinators and assistants. They work through operational permissions and never through clinical access. Practice Operations
Patient
A person receiving care, using their own account. A patient always sees their own care and never another patient’s.
Carer
A person who helps a patient, such as a family member or friend, acting through their own account under permissions the patient can see and end. Being a carer is a relationship, not a separate kind of account. For Patients & Carers
Care circle
The people a patient has allowed to help with their care, and what each one may do.
Care relationship
The connection between a patient and a doctor that makes the patient’s record reachable to that doctor. It starts when the patient asks to connect or accepts an invitation.
Appointment
The agreed booking. Either side proposes; nothing is booked until both agree. Coordinated Care
Consultation
The visit itself, run from a confirmed appointment. The doctor’s private working notes belong to the consultation and are never shown to the patient. Clinical Workspace
Prepared history
The health history a patient sets out before a visit and updates afterwards, shaped by the doctor’s specialties. Preparation & Records
Plan
The next steps agreed after a visit, with dates and owners, visible to doctor and patient alike. Follow-Up
Check-in
Something the plan asks the patient to record at a set time, such as a measurement or how they are feeling. Check-ins are scheduled parts of the plan, not continuous monitoring.
Reminder
A notice that a step in the plan is due. Reminders inform; they never shame.
Recall
An invitation to a patient who is due for a routine visit. An offer is an invitation and never books an appointment on its own. For dental practices
Treatment plan
A proposed course of work presented to the patient, who accepts or declines it. Revising a presented plan creates a new version; earlier versions stay readable.
Referral
A request for another doctor to see the patient, tracked through visible states with its requirements listed.
Specialty
A doctor’s field of practice. On Nerida, specialty shapes forms, defaults and ordering; it never decides what a doctor may use. Specialties
Small-group protection
Hiding very small counts in reports before anyone sees them, so no individual can be picked out of an aggregate. It reduces identification risk; on its own it does not make data anonymous. Reports & Insights
Research workspace
Where a clinical question becomes a defined project, a clear patient group and a traceable analysis, separate from clinical access. Research
Design partner
A doctor, practice, patient or carer who walks through real workflows with us before controlled use, using sample information only. Design Partners
Controlled pilot
The first real use of the platform, with design partners, after production readiness and independent security, clinical and legal review.

A word we should define?

If something on the site is unclear, tell us which word and where. We would rather fix the sentence than explain it.
